The Oils:

Olive Oil: We use first cold process pressed Olive Oil. This means that the Olive was pressed / crushed once. our Olive oil comes from a local grower.

Some on asked me what makes are Soaps special & why our Soaps

My response: Its the Ingredients! and we Make Our Soaps from Scratch,
using our own recipes. and never from a pre bought base.
Our goats milk soaps only contain goats milk , no water is used.

Our Ingredients:
We use Farm Fresh Goats Milk, not powdered or store bought.
Olive Oil (first pressed), Coconut Oil, Palm & Palm kernel oils,
Castor oil, Fair Trade & All Natural Shea Butter.
We only use 100% Pure essential oil and create our own essential oil blends.
our soaps are colored via clays, herbs, & Plants.
Our method for soap making is "Cold Process"

Cold Process: This method of soap making involves making soap completely from scratch. It is the most technical and takes the longest, compared to melting and pouring.

The cold process of soap making involves mixing a combination of fats (natural oils) with a lye until a process of saponification takes place.

Saponification is a chemical process which converts a fat into a soap by reaction with an alkali (lye). Each fat has a saponification value which measures the amount of lye necessary to saponify one gram of fat. The amounts of the fats, along with their saponification values, are inserted into a mathematical formula that will give the total amount of lye needed to saponify a batch of soap. Just about any fat or combination of fats can be used. The qualities of the soap, such as hardness or softness, amount of lather, and whether it is harsh or mild, are determined by the types of fats used. Once the saponification process has begun to take place, at trace (the point at which a line begins to form when stirring the mixture) the soap is poured into molds (loafs) and allowed to solidify. We then de mold our soaps and let them sit on racks for 4 weeks.
After the 4 week rest, we cut each of our loaves and again let them rest for one final week.

Little known faq's:
Our Oils, & butters are bought & stored in Amber or Cobalt Blue Glass containers & not plastic.

our essential oils are bought in Amber Glass Glass containers.
This is important as
Essential oils should always be sold in dark amber or blue glass bottles.
Clear glass can allow light to cause the oil to spoil.

NOTE:
Don't buy essential oils in plastic bottles, as the essential oil can dissolve plastic thus contaminating the essential oil, and bringing the contaminated oil back to your skin.

Natural made Creams & Lotions are best in Glass or Aluminum bottles
or jars.

In Oct. of 2008 we started with Goats Milk Soaps.
I remember E telling me, "honey just make like 5 or 6 different scents"
Got to laugh on that one,
We have over 62 different fragrant Body cleansing bars.

In November we finely had created a recipe that we were
pleased with for our Smooth as Silk Lotions. we must of gone thru
over 600.00 in ingredients finding the perfect formula.
We now offer 12 fragrant scents.

We contribute our success to our use of only "Natural Ingredients"
in both our Soaps & Lotions. Our Products are 100% earth friendly
and biodegradable. Our Summer packaging is also plantable!

With every batch of Soap we make a test bar. We want every batch to be consistent. Our products are Never Tested on Animals.

With 2010 we created hydrating scrubs made with pure natural oils
and epsom salts. Dusting Powders (body powder) was created & Talk Free.

The Green Goat offers Fresh Goats Milk Soaps, Lotions, Scrubs,Bath Salts, Milk Baths (all natural) Mud Masks (100% imported Dead Sea Mud), We pour our own Soy Candles, & Palm wax candles.

of a distressed Crow. A Crow, upon seeing a dead crow,

then go completely silent for minuets, then in silence,

I fell in love with this the moment I saw it,
it brought tears to my eyes, as I saw this as a glimmer of hope
for any couple! I am fortunate to know the artist,
as she is my Sister,and this past weekend she gifted
me this wonder piece of Art!

I have this on my bedroom wall,
across from my side of the bed.
It is the first thing I see in the morning,
as the message brings
Love, Hope and Joy~
I am blessed to have this and I want to share
it with all who read my blog.

This Month we introduced Soap Nuts!
took them to 2 shows thus far.
have sold 10 sets! woo hoo.

I think many people are interested in using all natural Products, but Soap Nuts are from a Tree! Can you imagine that there was / is a tree which allows us to clean our Laundry?

Awesome isn't it!

So for those who are unfamiliar with Soap Nuts Let me Share~

Safe for the Environment!

Soap nuts are excellent for dong your laundry without using chemical detergents. Perfect for Hot, and Warm Water washing! Place 6 soap nuts in a muslin/cotton drawstring pouch and place in washer, add clothes and enjoy fresh clean clothes! You can re use the muslin/cotton draw string pouch w/ the Soap nuts for up to 4 loads of laundry.

How do Soap Nuts Work?
Soap nuts, when in warm to hot water release Saponins (soap)
This happens at aprox. 30% hotter than the Nut itself.
The saponins then circulate as a natural surfactant (surface active ingredient). They break down the surface tension between water and oil in the wash water reducing the surface tension of the water aiding it in freeing dirt, grime and oils from clothes. Essentially this is the exact same fundamental principle that applies to how most detergents and soaps work.

Can Soap Nuts be used in the Cold Water Wash cycle?
the answer is Yes!

instructions as follows:
place your Soap Nuts in the provided pouch, about 6,
and add about 2cups of warm to hot water,
let them soak for about 5 mins. this will create the saponins process. Add the water and the Soap Nuts
to your cold water wash load,
and enjoy Clean, Fresh clothes!

Soap nuts are a revolutionary and interesting natural detergent and the best part is they grow literally on trees. A soap nut tree to be precise. In the Asian countries of India and Indonesia they have been used for centuries with great results. They are good for both your clothes and you and are a gift of nature. They grow on a tree called Sapindus Mukorrosi, found in India Their outer shell is dried and can be used as soap by combining 2-3 of these nuts in a small bag. grind them up and use the power as a cleaner.
